Topics of the Symposium are:

Study Tour US West Coast (Los Angeles & San Francisco), US

The US West Coast region is highly dynamic, both in LifeScience and CelanTech industry.

Two thirds of North America’s LifeScience business happens on a narrow strip from Vancouver south to San Diego – including Seattle, San Jose, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
More than 40% of all CleanTech venture capital funding worldwide went to firms in California as investments in those companies more than tripled to $2.9 billion in the first half of 2010 compared with a year earlier.


For interested parties of academia, administration and industry, the Eco4Life project offers the possibility to visit selected sites of diabetes management (City of Hope, Los Angeles), eHealth (Silicon Valley, not confirmed yet), leading high performance hospitals (Mayo Clinic, not confirmed yet) and sustainable healthcare institutions.

A workshop on FDA regulations for medical devices and diagnostics is planned with a the WestCoast Bioregion as BioCom (not confirmed yet).
